VEC Supply Acquires the Assets of Connect-It

VEC, LLC, a leading distributor of datacom, security & industrial automation products, today announced they have signed a definitive agreement to acquire the assets of Connect-It, a datacom products and custom cable provider based in Raleigh, NC. The deal is expected to close the first week in June.
Under the terms of the agreement, Connect-It will operate as a stand-alone division of VEC and will continue to support their customer base of end users, contractors, installers, schools and municipalities in the Raleigh marketplace. “We believe this is an excellent add-on to the VEC business, bringing us a strong customer base and knowledgeable employees to support our sales growth”, stated Frank Stalzer, President/CEO of VEC. “VEC already has a successful branch in the Raleigh market supporting contractors and installers so we plan to keep these two branches separate, allowing each of them to provide greater focus to their respective end markets. Our overall goal is to continue to build our business organically and through acquisitions and this latest move brings our number of branch locations to seven.”
VEC is headquartered in Charlottesville, Va. and maintains stocking sales branches in Lynchburg, Roanoke, Richmond, Raleigh, and Greensboro. In addition, VEC maintains an on-line distribution business operating under the banner DirectDatacom.

VEC Supply Opens New Branch to Serve the Richmond Market

VEC,LLC a leading distributor of datacom & security supplies, today announced they will be opening a new full-service branch in Ashland, VA on May 27th to service the metropolitan Richmond marketplace.
Located at 10032 Whitesel Rd, Ashland, the branch will be under the leadership of Branch Manager John Hooper, a long time VEC veteran.
The branch will operate from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. As is the case with all VEC branch locations, the branch will also have after-hours emergency service available. The branch telephone number is 804-368-0737. A grand opening celebration will be planned for some time in July.

Located at 1570A Brookford Industrial Drive, the branch will serve the Greensboro and Winston Salem metropolitan areas and will be under the leadership of Branch Manager, Joey Manno.

Frank Stalzer appointed President of VEC Supply

VEC Supply, a leading distributor of electronic components and services, serving the voice and data, telecom, security, access control, factory automation and OEM markets, today announced the appointment of Frank Stalzer to the position of President, effective January 1, 2012. VEC’s current President, Ed Stalzer, a second cousin to Frank, will remain with the company through the end of 2011 and help insure a smooth transition. Thereafter, he will carry the title of President Emeritus, and will serve in an advisory capacity through 2012.
Frank Stalzer comes to VEC with over 30 years of distribution experience in the electronics industry and has held executive level positions at Arrow Electronics, Richey Electronics and Peerless Electronics. Most recently, Mr. Stalzer was President & CEO of Astrex Electronics, a distributor of electronic interconnect products serving the industrial and military market places. A native of Long Island, NY, Mr. Stalzer has recently relocated with his family to Charlottesville, Va to assume this new role. A 1980 graduate of New York Institute of Technology with a B.S. degree, Stalzer also attended the Harvard Business School’s General Management Program in 2001.
“I’m excited about the opportunity to play a leadership role in the future of VEC. The VEC team has built a very successful company over the past few years and we are well positioned to take our company to the next level”, said Frank Stalzer.
